What is a fanlisting?

"A fanlisting is a place for all the fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people all around the world who are fans of that subject." (TheFanListings.org)

Who is Raiko?

Minamoto Raiko is a character from the anime OVA Kai Doh Maru, released by Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell, Jinroh) in 2001. Though somewhat short, the film is packed with action, drama, and intrigue. Based upon an old Japanese legend, "The Four Knights of Kyo"...

The film starts off with Raiko traveling back to Kyo with his Four Knights. They come upon the "young boy" Kaidohmaru (Kintoki) battling with his uncle and intervened. Shooting an arrow at the uncle, he rode in and carried the boy away from the bloodshed. He'd heard about "Kaidohmaru" from the villagers earlier and was intrigued by his fierce behavior. (Later, he found out Kintoki was a girl.) So, he took her to Kyo and raised her as a knight...

Why make a fanlisting?

Raiko is a dutiful knight; he does everything in his power to protect the citizens of the city and his own knights. Though he does question the motives of the political leaders, he keeps his duty his main objective, and still retains his morals.

Overall, I admire Raiko's character. His willingness to sacrifice even his own life for others and his code of honor. Plus, he's an archer! (*drools*) And a bishounen to boot! ;-)
